Available Massage Types:

Sports Massage
Vigorous exercise causes the build-up of waste products in the muscles. Heavy lifting can cause micro tears in muscles. This is the natural reaction to the demands placed on the body by these activities. Massage flushes muscles of built up waste products decreasing recovery time and residual soreness. It is also beneficial for speeding up the recovery time of injuries such as muscle strains, spasm, and cramping.

Swedish Massage
Uses long, light strokes, small friction types of movements, kneading, light tapping and gentle movement of the joints. This is a very relaxing type of massage which will refresh you both physically and mentally.

Deep Tissue
This type of massage is used during myofascial (muscle-fascia) and trigger point release techniques. High intensity stimulation helps to break up and release painful trigger points. Both techniques will improve circulation and help restore function to the involved area.

Therapeutic Massage
Combines a variety of techniques that will effect the physiological state of wellness. This is not intended to be a massage for relaxation, although you may feel more relaxed and energized afterwards.

Trigger Point Massage
Muscles and tendons that have been under chronic stress (emotional, physiological or physical) can develop hyper-irritalbe areas called trigger points. Trigger points may also develop after an injury. Pressure on an active trigger point causes referred pain. A latent trigger poing is painful only when palpated. Trigger points tend to respond well to standard massage techniques such as sustained pressure, deep massage in a direction perpendicular to the muscle fiber, ice massage, and muscle stretching. Your massage therapist will determine the method that is most effective for you.
